2009 Event Overview
This year's event was amazing! We enjoyed good food, met new friends, laughed and took home great finds from the door prizes, auction and swag bags. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered their time, and donated of auction items.
We opened with laughter with a fabulous performance by Dan Brantly who added humor to our day and realization of what we would say to people about lymphedema after this event. An amazing brunch of apple crepes, turkey ham, stuffed tomato and pomegranite juice was enjoyed by all. Jake Miles led off the next part of the program, sharing his experience with lymphedema as a child and overcoming the mental obstacles. The last speaker, but not least was Wendy Chaite, speaking about the important work and strides the Lymphatic Research Foundation had made in the fight for this syndrome.
All together, forty-two auction items were bid on -- some very competitively ;) We gave away door prizes of gift certificates and everyone took a swag bag home. We all made amazing connections and took home a great feeling. Each person's presence has made a difference.
