The brunch was a success! Check out the 2009 event overview!

Lymphedema affects millions world-wide but there is no cure. It affects children and adults alike. Lymphedema is the accumulation of lymphatic fluid in the interstitial tissue that causes swelling most often in arms and legs. The swelling restricts proper use of the limbs. What causes this are lymphatic vessels that are missing or impaired or when lymph vessels are damaged or removed. There are many syndromes that can cause the onset of Lymphedema from birth to puberty to adult-hood. It commonly affects cancer patients who have had lymph nodes removed to save their life.

You are probably unaware that someone you know struggles with Lymphedema every day. Imagine having to wrap your arm or leg in compression bandages or contraptions every single day for your lifetime. Your skin rarely breathes. Imagine constantly having to go for intensive compression therapy and paying for it when medical insurance doesn't cover it anymore, or having trouble walking and bending.

Currently there is very little research to find a cure. The stress we all currently face with the economy and pace of life doesn't compare to those also dealing with physical conditions. Make your existence mean something more. Let's find a cure! DOWNLOAD BROCHURE
